TEHRAN, Jun. 08, 2018(MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said Fri. that the attempts made by US-Israel-Saudi ‘triangle of evil’ to corner Iran will ultimately lead to undermining their own security.
The Iranian Parliament speaker made the remarks at a gathering of hundreds of people at University of Tehran on the occasion of marking the International Quds Day in solidarity with the Palestinians and condemnation of Israel’s occupation and atrocities.
“Yesterday, the dishonorable prime minister of Israel that had traveled to Europe talked about his relentless efforts to convince the US to withdraw from the nuclear deal,” said Larijani. “The Saudis also said that they will make up for the shortage in oil supplies [after US sanctions on Iran’s oil industry]. All these efforts follow the same objective: that the US-Israel-Saudi triangle of evil is trying to corner Iran.”
“These amateurish pests need to be careful, though. If they corner Iran, their own security will be at risk,” Larijani stressed.
The Iranian senior official added that the West interprets the main problem of the Middle East as the lack of a dominant power, adding that the Israeli regime’s measures are aimed to become the major power in the region; “the strength of Resistance groups and Iran’s regional influence have seriously undermined the realization of Israel’s dream,” Larijani added.
The Parliament speaker maintained that all compromising plans to settle the conflict between Israel and Palestine have a hidden agenda of deception, adding “that is why Israelis are hoping to execute their plans by the strategic deception of regional Arab leaders.”
“Any Muslim country that sides with Israel on the Palestinian issue will be isolated,” Larijani warned.
“The Palestinian issue is not restricted to just one country; it is related to the security of all Islamic countries,” Larijani stressed.
The Iranian official noted that two different processes are taking place in the Middle East region: one, as initiated by Iran, is peaceful and based on the votes of the nations, while the other ‘sinister’ one is making every effort to replace ‘civilization’ with ‘hostility’; “the encounter of these two processes will be decisive’,” he added.
Larijani further mocked the US president for its ‘self-centered’ illusions about undermining Iran through sanctions, adding “US president said the sanctions against Iran have achieved his desired results in changing Iran’s behavior in the region. If he is saying these things to shield himself from the ridicule of other countries, then he’d better remain in his ignorant self-satisfaction.”
Larijani delivered the speech at the International Quds Day in the absence of President Rouhani, who departed for China this morning to take part at the 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit focused on bilateral ties and the future of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal after the US pullout.
