Tehran, April 12, 2021 (ICANA) – President of the Islamic Parliament of Iran Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf criticized Korean banks act to block Iran’s assets and urged South Korea to take urgent measure with regard to unfreezing Iran financial resources.
Speaking in a meeting with South Korean Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, Qalibaf said unfortunately, South Korea currently has no place in Iran's foreign economic relations.
Ancient Asia has a lot of potential. Therefore, promoting convergence among Asian states is an important strategy in Iran’s foreign policy.
He called on the Asian countries to prioritize all-out cooperation in industrial, technology and cultural fields.
Iranian people’s expectations have not been met by South Korea, he said.
Even businessmen who had good relations with South Korea are dissatisfied, he added.
I believe that no obstacle can affect good cooperation between the two countries namely in the field of humanitarian affairs, medical issues such as the coronavirus and supplying basic goods, Qalibaf said expressing hope for developing cooperation.
Meanwhile, Chung Sye-kyun said undoubtedly, mutual trips will preserve relations between Iran and South Korea.
Unfortunately, since 2018, the relations between two countries faced problem, which we are trying to solve.
He also referred to South Korea cooperation with Iran in the field of taekwondo and football.
He also invited Qalibaf to visit South Korea, saying the visit will be the start of new ties between two countries.
