Qalibaf terms unilateral sanctions against Iran as indication of economic terrorism
Tehran, March 25, 2021 (ICANA) - President of the Islamic Parliament of Iran Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf described unilateral sanctions against Iranians as example of economic terrorism.
Speaking online in the fourth conference of countering terrorism and strengthening regional relations of the speakers of six countries held in Antalya, Qalibaf said parliaments as complementary to the actions of governments can play an important role in strengthening relations between nations, including in preventing the spread of violent extremism and fighting terrorism.
This meeting is being held at a time when our region and the world are facing many political, security and economic challenges and crises, and COVID19 pandemic, as one of the emerging challenges, is paving the way for the spread of terrorism and violent extremism, he added.
One year after people around the world were faced with COVID19, the need for solidarity and public confrontation against pandemic that all borders and divisions of the poor, rich, female, male, adolescent, old, white, colored skin, literate, illiterate, developed and developing or less developed and so on, has become more visible than ever, he noted.
Terrorism, like COVID19, knows no borders in taking the lives of innocent people, Christians and Muslims, young and old, men and women, he reiterated.
Unlike Coronavirus, terrorism is not a new phenomenon and for decades its threats have endangered world peace and security and claimed the lives of many innocent citizens around the world, especially in the West Asian region, Qalibaf said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been exposed to terrorism and therefore has always tried to play a vital role in the front line of fighting terrorism, he stated.
Undoubtedly, the principled fight against terrorism and extremism as a destructive global threat requires identifying and confronting the ideological contexts and origins of the troubled countries, he added.
In fact, the strategy of some countries is to use terrorism as a tool to follow up their foreign policy goals.
Although terrorism has different forms, manifestations and examples, they all have something in common, which is to use the keyword of fear to achieve their sinister goal.
Some countries, especially the United States and the fake Zionist regime, have used terrorism and terrorist groups as a tool to achieve their goals and interests.
Can the American and targeted Assassination of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandes and Dr. Fakhrizadeh be given a title other than terrorism?
Today, the Zionist regime has passed the red lines of economic terrorism and reached the border of crimes against humanity by preventing the fair access of the oppressed Palestinians people to the COVID19 vaccine.
Regarding Afghanistan and its developments, the principled policy of Iran to support the government is based on the constitution and democratic structure of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Iran is ready to play its constructive role with regard to the development, welfare and establishment of a sustainable regional security.
