Tehran, April 21, 2021 (ICANA) – President of the Islamic parliament of Iran Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf underlined opening Iran-Pakistan border markets and expressed happiness over opening Pishin-Mand border.
Qalibaf made the remarks in a meeting with Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi here in Tehran on Wednesday.
He said that establishing close cooperation with neighbors is Iran policy.
We will become more determined for developing relations when we see that enemies are after destroy deep ties between Iran and Pakistan, he added.
He also hailed level of political and security relations between two countries and urged both side to take advantage of capacities in time of COVID19 and sanctions.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Qalibaf appreciated Pakistan stance for fighting Islamophobia, saying Iranian government, parliament and people oppose any divisive voice among the Islamic Ummah and live in the shadow of the unity of the Islamic Ummah, far from ethnic and religious differences.
He pointed to recent webinar in the presence of speakers of Afghanistan neighbors, saying important ideas for economic cooperation and fighting terrorism and the promotion of peace and security in Afghanistan and the region were emphasized.
Pointing to the plan for US forces withdrawal from Afghanistan, he said Iran attaches importance to maintaining cooperation with Pakistan in this regard.
Iran’s policy towards Kashmir has always been clear and we pay serious attention to the rights of the people in this region.
Meanwhile, Qureshi said signing MoU with Iran for opening border markets will develop trade.
He appreciated Iran’s stance with regard to Kashmir, saying rights of people in this region are being violated.
Referring to developments in Afghanistan, he said none of us want ISIS and terrorism to be promoted.
Iran and Pakistan are after peace, he reiterated.
