Iran's MP emphasizes holding bilateral, multilateral parliamentary meetings with Pakistan
Tehran, Sept 15, 2020 – Chairman of Iran-Pakistan parliamentary friendship group Ahmad Amirabadi referred to cultural, historical and religious commonalities between Iran and Pakistan and stressed holding bilateral, multilateral parliamentary meetings.
Amirabadi made the remarks in a meeting with Pakistan Ambassador to Tehran Rahim Hayat Qureshi.
He also underlined developing relations with Pakistan in all fields.
He described Pakistan as a friend and brother for Iran which has great position in Iran's foreign policy.
Thanks to Iran's oil and gas resources and also Pakistan's great achievements in agricultural field, both countries can reinforce cooperation more than ever.
He expressed hope for holding the 21st joint economic commission meeting this year.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Amirabadi underscored the importance of reinforcing security and border cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.
He called for fighting terrorists and outlaws who are after disturbing relations and creating insecurity in common borders.
Pointing to normalization of ties between some regional countries and the Zionist regime of Israel, Iranian lawmaker said although Iran and Pakistan defend Palestinian aspiration, unfortunately some Islamic states in the region are seeking to compromise with Israeli regime.
The recent measure taken by UAE and Bahrain is considered as vivid malignancy against Palestinian cause, he said urging Islamic countries to take major strides in this regard.
Hayat Qureshi, for his part, said hailed exchanging parliamentary and governmental delegations between two countries, saying its shows depth of friendship and brotherliness between Iran and Pakistan.
He underlined facilitating visa issuance for Iranian and Pakistani businessmen.
Stressing the unceasing efforts made by Pakistan diplomatic mission in Tehran in line with reinforcing friendly relations in all fields.
He suggested opening border markets aiming to develop cooperation.
