Helping regional peace Iran's strategic policy: Official
Tehran, Jan 15, 2019(IRNA) - The Special Aide to the Speaker of Iranian Parliament in International Affairs Amir Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Monday that Iran’s strategic policy is to work for peace in the region.
In a meeting with the Ambassador of Finland to Iran Keijo Norvanto, he hailed Tehran-Helsinki growing ties, saying that bad policies have created problems in the region.
“Killing of over 500,000 Syrians and inflicting 400 billion dollars in damage to the country is the outcome of one of the wrong policies of the US in the region,” he said.
The US has no proper understanding about the Middle East, he said.
Referring to Yemen crisis and their historic resistance, he called for dialogue among different Yemeni groups.
Saudi Arabia excessive demands are one of the obstacles in the way of establishing peace and security in the region.
Finnish envoy, for his part, highlighted the constructive role of Iran as a major player in the region, saying that this role is crucial for solving many regional disputes.
