Tehran, Nov 20, 2020 (ICANA) Special Assistant to the President of the Islamic Parliament of Iran Hossein Amir Abdollahian said Iran considers Afghanistan security as its own and for the region, and stressed neighbors' cooperation in solving Afghanistan's issues.
Speaking in a meeting with special representative of the UN secretary-general for Afghanistan affairs Deborah Lyons, Amir Abdollahian referred to Iran continuous supports for Afghan people and Afghanistan's important position in Iran's foreign policy, saying passing current situation in Afghanistan will be possible by cooperation of regional states and global actors.
He called for protecting Afghanistan constitution and democratic structures in line with intra-Afghan talks.
Referring to recent movements of Daesh in Afghanistan, he said unfortunately US abuses situation in Afghanistan and some US military forces are smuggling narcotics through Bagram Air port.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Amir Abdollahian pointed to three parliamentary meeting in Islamabad, Tehran and Istanbul, saying Afghan neighbors' lawmakers play important part with regard to helping establish peace, security and stability in Afghanistan.
Lyons, for her part, referred to background of cooperation between Iran and United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), saying Iran as neighbor of Afghanistan and an effective strategic country in the region, has always supported people of Afghanistan.
She praised Iran's support for Afghan refugees and its aid to build roan and to supply energy for Afghanistan.
We need supports of all parties, neighbors and international organizations for establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan and improving economic situation to create motivation for Afghans.
Regional players and neighbors are expected to help promote negotiations process.
