MP urges Iran, China to put on agenda reviewing dimensions of 25-year cooperation document
Tehran, September 10, 2021 (ICANA) – Iranian Lawmaker Ahmad Naderi said Iran is seriously committed to developing all-out relations with China, urging both sides to put on their agenda implementation of the various dimensions of 25-year-old cooperation document.
Speaking in a meeting with Vice-chair of the NPC Foreign Affairs Committee Chen Guomin which was held on the sidelines of the World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Vienna, Naderi said Iran is committed to the comprehensive development of ties with China and considers long-term and strategic cooperation with China at the highest levels based on the strategic partnership.
These relations include cooperation in international, regional and bilateral fields.
Iran-China relations are of strategic importance independently. Relations between the two countries are not dependent on or affected by relations with other states and international conditions.
He appreciated China's support for Iran in fighting coronavirus in order to overcome the difficult situation of medical staff and vulnerable groups and with regard to exporting Sinopharm vaccine to Iran.
The measures taken to neutralize the pressures on the bilateral relations between Iran and China, including regulated solutions in the fields of transportation, banking, financial and trade relations and other executive issues, are fully supported by the Islamic Parliament of Iran.
Reminding Iran's support for 'Belt and Road Initiative', he said Iran also supports the investment and participation of Chinese state-owned companies and the private sector in Iran to participate in development and infrastructure projects within the initiative.
He referred to increasing exports of Iranian non-oil products to China as stabilizing trade ties between the two countries.
Regarding regional and multilateral cooperation, he said Iran's HOPE initiative indicates constructive approach toward
Lasting peace and security in the Persian Gulf is possible only with the participation of all neighbors and not thinking about the idea of buying security from trans-regional powers, removing hostile behavior and returning to the path of rationality.
Meanwhile, Guomin described Iran and China as strategic partners in economic, political and cultural fields.
Strong and high-level cooperation can have tangible results for both countries, so that they benefit from its tangible results.
Iranian and Chinese parliaments should increase interaction and pass laws that facilitate trade and other areas such as tourism.
In line with the legislation and by using joint experiences, we should pass laws on anti-sanctions issues, foreign policy and higher education in the interests of the two nations.
