MP terms Iran-Armenia ties as friendly, based on mutual respect

Tehran, Oct 21, 2020 (ICANA) – Iranian lawmaker Mahdi Farshadan in a meeting with Armenian Ambassador to Tehran Artashes Tumanyan said Iran and Armenia have deep and historical relations which are friendly and based on mutual respect.

Farshadan said negotiations between Iranian and Armenian lawmakers can create mutual understanding of capacities and will facilitate cooperation.

He also referred to recent conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and hoped for stabilizing truce. 

He noted that parliamentary friendship groups will be able to facilitate cooperation.

Meanwhile, Tumanyan offered his tendency for establishing interaction between Iranian and Armenia lawmaker through video conference.

Armenia welcomes approach of impartial countries for resolving conflict.
