Tehran, July 20, 2020 (ICANA) - Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Parliament of Iran Mojtaba Zolnouri said regional security cannot be imported or bought but it will be established through regional states’ participation and interaction.
Speaking in a meeting with Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Lyndall Sachs, Zolnouri said presence of the US and trans-regional states has escalated insecurity and instability.
Iran is determined to developing all-out relations with Australia, he said adding that Tehran has always welcomed promoting cooperation with Canberra in various fields.
He noted that creating parliamentary friendship groups between Iran and Australia will help strengthen relations between two states.
Criticizing Australia for joining US coalition in the region, Zolnouri said Iranian navy forces have significant impact on restricting pirates’ sinister acts in the Indian Ocean, Sea of Oman and Gulf of Aden.
He also expressed regret over Austrian PM’s concerns about Iran’s decision to reduce commitments under the nuclear deal, advising him of writing to Trump and European leaders not to endanger Iran nuclear deal and not to impose economic and drug sanctions on Iranians.
Iran has always been committed to JCPOA but US disloyalty and Europe’s irresponsibility caused the loss of the inalienable rights of the Iranians, he reiterated.
Iran’s strategic position in the Middle East and also regional stability and security have paved the way for investment and developing commercial and tourism relations with Australia.
Zolnouri referred to presence of Iranian students in Australia as a great factor in establishing cultural, social and trade ties with Australia.
Meamwhile, Lyndall Sachs said there are many commonalities between two countries for developing relations.
She said that parliamentary relations are considered as a turning point for both countries relations.
