TEHRAN, March 6, 2018 (ICANA) – Head of Parliament Hope Committee Mohammad-Reza Aref has called for speedy implementation of the agreements, reached in the Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Commission session.
According to the Islamic Consultative Assembly News Agency (ICANA), Aref, who is also member of the Parliament Education and Research Committee, made the remarks in a meeting with Artashes Tumanyan, the Armenian Ambassador to Iran, in Tehran on Tuesday.
Aref, referring to age-old and friendly relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia, said Iran's Parliament supports expansion of relations in all fields.
Aref, representing the cities of Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat, Islamshahr and Padis in parliament, highlighted the grave role of Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Committee and said expediting implementation of agreement reached in the Joint Economic Committee can considerable upgrade bilateral ties.
He then referred to important role of parliamentary cooperation between Iranian and Indonesia in cementing parliamentary relations and said parliamentary cooperation, especially relations between parliamentary groups, will help better understanding and using the opportunities ahead of expansion of relations.
Tumanyan hailed "positive" diplomatic relations between Iran and Armenia and emphasized importance of expanding economic relations.
He referred to the affinities and links of Iranian and Armenian nations and said expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran is among principles and priorities of foreign policy of Armenia.
