Tehran, May 14, 2018(IRNA) – Head of the Inter-Parliamentary Union's (IPU) Palestine Committee urged Islamic countries to stand against the Zionist regime of Israel’s measures against Palestinians.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the PUIC Standing Committee on Palestine on the current situation in Palestine which started work Monday in Tehran, Kazem Jalali said Palestine is the main issue for the Islamic World.
'The Islamic Republic of Iran has put on the agenda reinforcing Islamic Ummah and promoting Muslims’ status in the world,' he said.
Iran has spared no efforts to strengthen Muslims and to reduce foreigners’ penetration, he added.
Commenting on PUIC meeting which is underway in Tehran, Jalali said participants will release a final statement.
The meeting is underway due to US President Donald Trump’s decision to relocate the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Holy Quds, Jalali earlier said.
The event is to be held with the attendance of Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Burkina Faso, Turkey, Chad, Kuwait, Qatar, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Uganda, Senegal and Iran.
