TEHRAN, Nov. 29, 2013 (FNA)- Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek expressed pleasure in the recent developments in the relations between Tehran and Ankara, and called for the further expansion of parliamentary ties with Iran.

Addressing an Iranian parliamentary delegation headed by Chairman of Iran-Turkey Parliamentary Friendship Group Moayyad Hosseini Sadr in Ankara on Wednesday, Cicek said exchange of visits between the officials of the two countries is very "positive".

He welcomed the Iranian delegation, and called recent developments in the two countries bilateral relations very "pleasing".

He described his recent visit to Tehran "very good and constructive", expressing the hope that talks of Iranian delegation could deepen and develop parliamentary relations.

Also earlier this month, Iran and Turkey said they are resolved to further develop their ties in all domains, specially in various economic fields.

In a meeting between Iranian Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and Turkish Minister of Planning and Programming Judat Yilmaz at the end of the 29th ministerial meeting of Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) in Istanbul, Nematzadeh said that Iran is resolved to expand its trade ties with Turkey.

The Iranian minister said that the meeting between Iranian and Turkish presidents during the 68th UN General Assembly session in New York had an important role in developing mutual cooperation between the two nations.

In the meeting, Yilmaz called Iran as a very important country in the region, adding that Iran and Turkey are two significant regional actors.

He continued that the two countries have 150 million population and national incomes of the two states are high, so if economic ties increase the whole region will benefit from it.

He added that the figure of $30bln has been aimed for increasing economic ties between the two countries.
