TEHRAN, Mar. 05, 2014 (IRNA) South African president calls for enhanced economic ties with Iran

Tehran, March 5, IRNA - South African President Jacob Zuma, in a meeting with visiting Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani urged Tehran and Pretoria to promote economic relations. Zuma also called for increased cooperation between the two countries at bilateral and regional levels.

On Iranˈs nuclear program, the South African president said that Iran is entitled to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. The Iranian parliament speaker, for his part, underlined the importance of parliamentary relations between Iran and South Africa. Larijani also briefed the South African president on nuclear negotiations between Iran and the P5+1. Larijani who has travelled to South Africa at the head of a parliamentary delegation will leave the country for Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of the Congo on Thursday.
