TEHRAN, Aug. 3, 2014 (FNA)- A senior Iranian lawmaker strongly condemned Israels recent attacks on the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and said that Muslim world leaders are not doing enough to prevent the Zionist regime from continuing its crimes in Gaza.
"No hope can be pinned on the Muslim leaders for their confrontation with the Zionist regime," Kazzem Jalali, who also heads the parliaments Research Center, said on Sunday.
Jalali pointed to the ongoing Israeli crimes in Gaza, and said, "The Zionist regime might make some gains in the short-run in wars, but it is very vulnerable in prolonged wars; hence, it is now looking for third-party mediation to end the war."
He explained that Israel wants to stage a psychological war in the world to pretend that it has achieved its objectives in its war against the Gaza people.
On Saturday, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas vowed to continue fighting against the Israeli regimes atrocities in the blockaded Gaza Strip.
Hamas Spokesman Fawzi Barhum said that resistance would persist until the Palestinians goals are achieved.
Barhums remarks came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tel Aviv would go on with its massive military campaign against Palestinians.
"We will continue our resistance until our goals are achieved. Netanyahu wants to falsely claim a victory of his regime and his army," said the Hamas spokesman, adding that the Israeli premier is confused and is facing a real crisis.
Israeli warplanes have been pounding numerous sites in the Gaza Strip since July 8, demolishing houses and burying families under the rubble. Israeli forces also began a ground offensive against the impoverished Palestinian land on July 17.
The Palestinian death toll in Israels onslaught on Gaza has now reached nearly 1,730, with over 9,100 people injured. Most of the casualties have been civilians, including a large number of women and children.
Meantime, over 400,000 of Gazans, nearly one out of four, have been displaced as a result of the recent aggressions made by Israeli forces against the besieged enclave.
