Larijani elaborates on Geneva trip
Three important issues were discussed during an Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) summit in Geneva Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in Tehran, Larijani said the 3rd. World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments discussed how parliaments could promote democracy in different countries.
The Conference attendees also reviewed the way the IPU interacts with the United Nations .Thirdly, world’s crises were also discussed in the gathering, he added.
Larijani went on to say that parliament speakers from around the world delivered speeches on different topics, particularly the crises in the today’s world.
The speaker added that he addressed the Palestine issue as well as the U.S. double standard policies which have caused some challenges at the international level.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said 22 meetings were held between the Iranian parliamentary delegation and their counterpart from European and Arab countries.
Different issues, including Iran’s nuclear program and issues of mutual interests were also discussed during the bilateral meetings with his counterparts, he explained
