Constructive interaction with international community the mainstay of Irans Foreign Policy
The Islamic Republic of Iran has always followed the path of constructive interaction with the international community in respect of nuclear issues and foreign policy, Parliament Speaker, Ali Larijani said in a meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Jassim al-Kharafi in Tehran on Tuesday.
In this meeting Larijani touched on the recent agreement made among Iran, Brazil and Turkey on the swap of the nuclear fuel for the Tehran research reactor, and stated, "The new nuclear fuel swap initiative can be assessed in connection with the construction interaction always pursued by Iran, as a litmus test for the bullying nuclear states."
Iran will send , as agreed under the proposal drafted by Iranian, Brazilian and Turkish officials, some 1200 kg of its 3.5 percent enriched uranium to Turkey in exchange for a total 120 kg of 20 percent enriched fuel.
Based on the Tehran agreement, the fuel swap will take place nearly a month after receiving an official approval from the Vienna Group, which consists of representatives from France, Russia, the U.S and the IAEA.
Referring to Irans foreign policy Larijani said" since the victory of the Islamic Revolution Irans strategy has been based on good relationship and peaceful coexistence with the neighboring states and strengthening unity among the Islamic countries".
During the meeting, Kharafi said that Kuwait has always officially underlined the peaceful nature of Irans nuclear program, and expressed the hope that the Tehran Declaration would pave the way for showing the peaceful intention of the Iranian nuclear program to the word.
