Tehran, March 2, 2014 (IRNA) - Iranian Parliament speaker said Saturday oppressor western countriesˈ support for democracy is aimed at securing their colonialist objectives in the region and confiscating the regionˈs newborn revolution.
ˈWhen the hegemonic powers realized they could no longer achieve their colonialist objectives through keeping up supporting the regional dictators, they began pretending to support democracy instead,ˈ Ali Larijani said in a meeting with a delegation of the Tunisian Founders Parliament, and that countryˈs Al-Nahda Council. ˈThe hegemonic powers are trying to block the path for the establishment of true democracies in Islamic countries, relying on their financial might,ˈ he said. Larijani reiterated that in order to confront such plots, the revolutionary nations need to strengthen their national unity and also to ratify laws aimed at blocking the path for demolishing the peopleˈs rights.
He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the revolution of the Tunisian nation against the former dictator, as well as the independence of the Islamic countries and the progress of democracy in them. ˈIran, with its high scientific and technological capabilities, is ready for broadening cooperation with Tunisia in political, economic, cultural, and parliamentary fields,ˈ he added.
The Iranian Parliament speaker referred to the unique advancements of Iran in such modern technologies as the nanotechnology, steel industry, auto manufacturing, dam construction, and exporting technical and engineering services. He argued that under such conditions that economic cooperation among Islamic countries is inescapable our bilateral cooperation can further accelerate relying on such capabilities.
