TEHRAN, July 20, 2014, (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and his Turkish counterpart Cemil Chicek voiced their deep concern over the Israeli forces aggressions against innocent civilians in Gaza, and called on Muslim nations and international bodies to help end the ongoing bloodshed in the besieged enclave.
In a phone call on Saturday, Larijani underlined Irans strong support for Gazans under present hard conditions.
He went on to say that Tehran meeting on Gaza will once again show to Zionist occupying regime and its supporters the unity and solidarity of Muslim countries in defending the Palestinian people.
Chicek, for his part, appreciated Iranian government, parliament and nation for the support they have always extended for the oppressed people of Palestine, specialy those in besieged Gaza enclave.
Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for 13 consecutive days, killing at least 355 people and injuring more than 2,600 others.
Four out of every five Palestinians killed during Israels ongoing military offensive in Gaza have been civilians, including dozens of women and children, the United Nations said on Monday.
The statistic was disclosed by the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) amid mounting international concern over non-combatant casualties during an operation which Israeli officials had claimed was aimed solely at rooting out militants.
