Iranian, S. Korean Parliamentary Think Tanks Ink Cooperation Agreement
TEHRAN, June 23, 2014 (FNA)- The research centers of the Iranian and South Korean parliaments signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday to increase mutual cooperation.
The MoU signed by Head of the Iranian parliaments Research Center Kazzem Jalali and his South Korean counterpart Hyun Wook Koh in Tehran calls for the expansion of research cooperation between the two sides.
Before inking the MoU, Wook Koh and Jalali held a meeting, during which the latter said that the two sides have reached an agreement to establish the Union of the World Parliaments Research Centers. "Today, the role of the parliaments research centers is much more tangible in ruling the countries and we should make a good use of each others experiences," he added.
Wook Koh, for his part, underlined Iran and South Koreas commonalities, and expressed the hope that the research centers of the two countries parliaments could start good cooperation by sharing their experiences. A South Korean research delegation, headed by Wook Koh, arrived in Iran on Saturday to meet with a number of Iranian officials.
Jalali made a trip to South Korea in 2013 to attend the 4th international seminar of parliamentary research centers.
