During the meeting in the Iranian capital today, Head of Iran-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group Ramazan Ali Sobhanifar and Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagarian emphasized the need for both sides to pave the ground for the further advancement of ties.
Sobhanifar underlined that there are abundant capacities for the broadening of relations between Iran and Russia in political, economic and cultural as well as parliamentary areas.
He emphasized the need to make the best use of industrial, agricultural and trade potentials to shore up ties, and stressed that the two countries need to support their private sectors to develop bilateral economic ties.
The Russian ambassador, for his part, said that friendly relations between Iranian and Russian governments and parliaments will surely help to the further expansion of ties between Tehran and Moscow.
In the last several years, Iran and Russia have had vast cooperation in different fields, specially in political and economic spheres.
The two states also enjoy special positions on the international scene and have long had constant and regular consultations on key regional and global issues.
