Iranian MPs to Attend IPU Meeting in Switzerland
TEHRAN, Sep. 26. 2014 (FNA)- A high-ranking parliamentary delegation from Iran plans to travel to Geneva in October to participate in the upcoming Inter-Parliamentarian Union (IPU), an Iranian lawmaker announced.

Moayed Hosseini Sadr said that Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani will head the Iranian delegation which is to attend the 131st IPU meeting on October 12–16.

He further added that main topic of this autumn assembly will be achieving gender equality and ending violence against women.

Hosseini Sadr went on to say that the Iranian delegation will include 8-9 members including one female legislator, and added that the delegation is to leave Tehran for Geneva on October 12.

The 145-member IPU convenes twice a year in spring and autumn.
