Iran to Send Parliamentary Delegation to Slovenia in Coming Days

TEHRAN, Sep. 08, 2013 (FNA)- A delegation comprising senior Iranian parliamentary officials is slated to visit Slovenia next week to discuss expansion of ties and cooperation in meetings with Slovenian officials.
"Members of the Iran-Slovenia (Parliamentary) Friendship Group to be headed by (senior lawmaker) Vahid Ahmadi will travel to Slovenia next week," senior Advisor to the Iranian Parliament Speaker Hossein Sheikholeslam told FNA on Sunday.

He noted that the visit by the Iranian parliamentary delegation will last four days and start on September 16.

"The visit will be aimed at broadening bilateral relations, specially in the parliamentary fields," Sheikholeslam said.

Iranian lawmakers Mohammad Baqer Ebadi, Mohammad Ali Abdollahzadeh and Halimeh Aali will accompany Ahmadi during the visit to Slovenia.

Last month, Slovenian Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec in a message to his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif asked for the expansion and reinvigoration of the friendly relations between the two states.

In his message, Erjavec asked for the expansion and strengthening of the friendly ties between Iran and Slovenia in line with the interests of both sides.

Erjavec also expressed confidence that the two states fruitful and friendly cooperation in the various grounds desired by the two sides would further develop and deepen as a result of joint efforts.
