Gonzalez said that the upcoming visit of the delegation to Havana will expedite the expansion of ties between the two countries, specially in parliamentary field. The Iranian parliamentary delegation to Cuba to headed by Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi will arrive in Havana Thursday, Gonzalez said in Tehran on Wednesday.
The Cuban envoy noted that the Iranian parliamentary delegations visit is aimed at expanding and reinvigorating bilateral ties. Boroujerdi will meet with several Cuban parliamentary officials on expansion of ties between the two countries and consultation on different projects, he said. The Cuban ambassador underlined that Iran-Cuba relations are in the best conditions, and said, "We are very satisfied with the broadening of bilateral ties and the relations are enhancing."
Iran has in recent years expanded friendly ties with Latin America, specially in economic, trade and industrial fields. Irans strong and rapidly growing ties with Latin America, specially with Venezuela, have raised eyebrows in the US and its western allies since Tehran and Latin nations have forged an alliance against the imperialist and colonialist powers and are striving hard to reinvigorate their relations with the other independent countries which pursue a line of policy independent from the US.
