Tehran, Nov 17, 2019 (ICANA) – President of the Islamic Parliament of Iran Ali Larijani urged Iran and Georgia to take advantage of their capacities for promoting relations.
Speaking in a meeting with members of Georgia parliamentary friendship group, Larijani reminded good relations between Iranian and Georgian parliaments and governments, and expressed hope for negotiations to result in developing relations.
There are many active companies in Iran which are able to present engineering services in Georgia, he said adding that good regulations exist in Iran with regard to these companies’ activities in neighboring countries.
Meanwhile, Head of the Georgian-Iranian parliamentary Friendship Group Shalva Kikenaveldezia said Iranian and Georgian parliaments can play major role in promoting relations between two countries.
He noted that good plans are underway between Iranian and Georgian governments and embassies.
Both sides can have good cooperation in economic and tourism fields, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Kikenaveldezia stressed promoting cooperation in educational, railway, transportation and agricultural sectors, saying Iran was among the first countries which recognized Georgia after its independence.
Iranian and Georgian parliamentary friendship groups are ready for removing problems on developing cooperation, he added.
