Tehran, May 24, 2020 (ICANA) – President of the Islamic Parliament of Iran Ali Larijani in a phone conversation with his Iraqi counterpart Mohamed al-Halbousi said that Iran is ready to develop economic cooperation with Iraq.
Voicing happiness over formation of new Iraqi government, Larijani said Iran will always be ready to maintain economic cooperation with Iraq and to reinforce stability and security in Iraq.
The Council of Representatives of Iraq plays a major role in helping form efficient Iraqi government to meet national interests and developing economy of Iraq.
Larijani congratulated his Iraqi top lawmaker on Eid al-Fitr and welcomed his request with regard to taking advantage of Iran’s experiences in fighting COVID19.
Al-Halbousi, for his part, reviewed developing ties, the consequences of coronavirus outbreak and ways to contain the pandemic.
He congratulated Iranian government and people on Eid al-Fitr.
Holding consultations between Iranian and Iraqi parliaments and lawmakers has always played major part in boosting cooperation.
Al-Halbousi called for continuation of bilateral and regional cooperation with Iran.
Stressing the outbreak of coronavirus in Iraq, he called for exchanging experience with Iran in fighting coronavirus.
