MP: US sanctions disturb Iranians’ access to health, pharmaceutical needs

Tehran, March 16, 2020 (ICANA) – Iranian Lawmaker Mostafa Kavakebian in a letter to the U.S. Representative for Minnesota's 5th congressional district Ilhan Omar slammed US sanctions, saying they have disturbed Iranians’ access to medical and health requirements.

In his letter, Kavakebian hoped for the efforts made by those representatives in US Congress who are against unilateral sanctions to result in lifting cruel and inhuman sanctions.

As far as you are concerned, coronavirus as an infectious disease have killed innocent people and imposed heavy costs on national economy.

Referring to coronavirus as a serious threat against people’s health, he urged all countries to stand against this catastrophe regardless of political and geographical differences and help each other in reducing the destructive humanitarian, economic and social effects.

Kavakebian warned US to prevent cruel behaviors which have targeted people’s health, saying they are against international norms.

Despite its claims, the United States is deceiving public opinion and its economic sanctions have been designed and implemented to deprive the Iranian people of international aid and even the purchase of medical equipment, he reiterated.
