MP: Iran remains committed to its JCPOA pledges

Tehran, Aug. 7,2017(IRNA) – Head of Iran-Britain Parliamentary Friendship Group Mostafa Kavakebian said Monday that the Islamic Republic of Iran has remained committed to all its pledges with regards to implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and it is quite rational and logical to expect other parties to do the same.

Kavakebian said in a meeting with the visiting Vice-Chairman of the Britain-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Richard Bacon in Tehran on Monday.

The reports released by the IAEA indicate that Iran remains committed to all its pledges, Richard Bacon said.

Expressing satisfaction over his visit to Iran and attending the swearing-in ceremony, he said the speech delivered by the Iranian president on the country's firm determination for the expansion of cooperation with the world countries was very promising.

Britain's parliament welcomes expansion of relations and cooperation with Iran as it believes that parliaments should walk in line with the expansion of friendly relations, he said.

Britain is well aware of Iran's significant role in fight against terrorism and believes that any efforts for the restoration of peace and stability in the region depends on Iran's cooperation as well as recognition of the country's strategic status, Bacon said.

London is for the expansion of all-out relations and cooperation with Tehran and believes that parliamentary friendship groups shoulder a very grave responsibility in assisting private and state-run sectors to broaden cooperation, he said.

Grounds for the expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Britain are well-prepared in various sectors as water management, energy, sanitation, student and instructor's placement, environment cooperation as well as pharmaceutical, he said.

Iran expects Britain not to keep mum against new set of sanctions imposed by the US against Iran, Kavakebian said.

He advised western powers to have a better understanding on regional developments, he said.
