Khouzestan Prov. Welcomes German Investment in Energy, Industry, Agriculture
TEHRAN, Feb 21, 2018 (ICANA) – Member of Iranian Parliament's Energy Committee Abdullah Sameri says Iranian Southwestern Province of Khouzestan welcomes Germany companies' investment in its energy, industrial and agricultural sectors.
According to the Islamic Consultative Assembly News Agency (ICANA), Sameri made the remarks in a meeting with German Ambassador to Tehran Michael Klor-Berchtold in Tehran on Wednesday.
Sameri praised Germany's pro-JCPOA stances and emphasized expansion of economic relations between the two countries in many areas.
Sameri, who represents the city of Khorramshahr in Iranian parliament, briefed the German envoy on abundant capacities of both Iran and Germany for upgrading mutual cooperation and said Khouzestan Province, Khorramshahr city in particular, have many capacities in energy, industry and agriculture, for German companies' investment.
He said Iranian parliament supports expansion of cooperation with Germany.
The German ambassador said in turn that Germany keeps supporting the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Acton (JCPOA).
He referred to economic activity of German companies in Iran and said some German companies did not leave Iran even at the time of sanctions and continued economic activities there.
He said not only Germany strived for fruition of the JCPOA but also tried to preserve it.
He referred to complicated international issues on the subject and said though one of the JCPOA signatories strongly attacked it and tried to create atmosphere of security to make investors scared of economic activities in Iran, Germany and its European partners, other countries and Iran withstood such a claim.
He underlined expansion of economic and diplomatic relations between Iran and Germany.
