Iran, Ukraine underline developing parliamentary ties
Moscow, Nov 15, (2017) IRNA - Head of Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi and his Ukrainian counterpart Anna Gopko met in Kiev and stressed promoting parliamentary cooperation.
“Reinforcing ties with neighboring countries is among Iran’s priorities,” Boroujerdi said on Tuesday.
He emphasized Iran’s Majlis (Parliament) support of boosting all-out relations with Ukraine and urged both countries to take major strides in increasing bilateral trade volume.
Boroujerdi appreciated Ukraine for expressing sympathy over the deadly quake in western Iran.
A 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook the western province of Kermanshah and the regions bordering Iraq on Sunday night. So far, death toll from the quake has hit 432 with the number of injured being 9,388.
Meanwhile, Gopko emphasized the importance of removing obstacles and activating trade sectors to promote trade volume.
She called for continuation of cooperation in agriculture, energy, scientific and training fields.
During the meeting both sides underscored continuing regional and international cooperation.
