Armenian official calls for broadening ties with Iran
Tehran, Dec 11, 2017(IRNA) – Senior Armenian official visiting Iran called for improvement of Tehran-Yerevan relations, and urged cooperation between the two states in all fields.
'Armenia as a member of the Eurasia union… can play the role of a bridge for exchange of commodities between Iran, the Eurasian Economic Union and the Europe,' President of Armenian-Iran Friendship Group Vahram Baghdasaryan said in a meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Monday.
He called for broadening of Tehran-Yerevan relations in the fields of tourism and trade, and said that the Iranian investors are welcome to invest in free trade zone that is going to be inaugurated at a border area near Iran.
The official communicated the invitation letter from Armenian Parliament Speaker Ara Babloyan to Larijani and invited him to pay an official visit to Yerevan.
Larijani, for his part, welcomed the official invitation by the Armenian speaker, and urged more consultations between the Iranian entrepreneurs and their Armenian counterparts.
