Tehran, Nov 8, 2019 (ICANA) - Special Assistant to the President of the Islamic Parliament of Iran Hossein Amir Abdollahian said enemies are seeking to create insecurity in the region especially in Iraq and Lebanon and after bringing down government in these states.
Speaking in a meeting with Deputy Chairman of Syrian Parliamentary Friendship Group Mohammad-Hossein Ragheb al-Hussein, Amir Abdollahian said Syrian government, people and army prevented terrorists from doing crimes and aggression and helped establishing stability and security in the region.
Referring to conflicts in northern Syria and also US new movements, he said terrorists and ill-wishers should not be permitted to adopt Idlib as a base.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining peace and tranquility in northern Syria.
Elaborating on regional developments, Amir Abdollahian said Iran considers Syrian security as security of the region.
Iran will stand firmly by Syrian people, he said adding that the current security of Syria is due to the sacrifice and blood of the martyrs of the Resistance and the Defenders of the Holy shrine.
Meanwhile, Ragheb al-Hussein underlined the role of parliaments in promoting strategic aims of two countries, saying cooperation between two countries plays major role in reinforcing relations.
Syria hails maintaining parliamentary cooperation and developing ties, he noted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to strategic view of the Iranian people, government and Supreme Leader in helping Syria, saying Syria will never forget Iran basic part in fighting terrorism and also in regional developments.
