Tehran, June. 9,2017(IRNA) – We are confronting two types of Daesh terrorists in the region and across the world, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said here on Friday.
Larijani made the remarks while addressing the funeral ceremony held in the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) for the victims who were martyred in Wednesday’s twin terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital.
“The United States has aligned itself with the regional with the regional Daesh, he said.
“Washington has demonstrated that it is the international Daesh,” Iran’s Parliament Speaker said.
Larijani said that the incident indicated that the terrorist groups, failing to achieve their main goal and target the Parliament and the mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini, finally resorted to martyring the innocent people and the staff at the parliament.
Terrorists tried to undermine the democratic and religious foundations of the nation, but they failed to do so, he said.
The Parliament Speaker also praised Iran’s security forces, including forces of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps, calling them as dedicated and popular forces.
“The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps constitutes a dedicated, popular force,” Larijani said.
“The IRGC and the Quds Force are Iran’s red lines,” he added.
He also described the US Army and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) as the main sources of regional terrorism.
“The American Army and the CIA are the main Headquarters of terrorism in the region,” Larijani said.
The terrorist incidents in Iran, sponsored by the US, made more transparent what is going on in the region, he said.
The terrorist attacks made Iranian people more determined as well in their fight against the terrorists and their puppet elements, he added.
Two terrorist groups attacked mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini and the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Wednesday (June 7) morning, killing 17 people and injuring 52 more.
One of the attackers blew up himself outside Imam Khomeini mausoleum.
The terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the fatal attacks in Tehran.
Present at the ceremony today were also heads of three branches of power, President Hassan Rouhani and Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani.
Iranian government and military officials also were among the participants of the mourning ceremony.
