Tehran, Dec. 15, 2016(IRNA)- Special advisor to Majlis Speaker for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Thursday congratulated liberation of Aleppo from terrorist groups, saying Iran will speed up humanitarian aid to the conflict-hit country.
Tehran has always played a pioneering role in carrying on an effective fight against terrorism and sending humanitarian aid to the crisis-hit regions of Syria, Amir-Abdollahian said.
Now after the liberation of Aleppo, Iran will redouble its efforts to send humanitarian aid to the country, he said.
The official also said that Tehran believes waging a serious fight against terrorism and focusing on finding a political solution favored by the Syrian people, establish the main foundations for any effort to deal with developments in Syria and the Region.
Liberated recently from terrorist groups, Aleppo is the second biggest city in Syria.
