Tehran, Apr. 19,2017(IRNA) – 200 members of parliament in a Wednesday statement praised President Hassan Rouhani’s government’s efforts to inaugurate new phases of South Pars Gas Field.
Simultaneous with inauguration of six phases of South Pars, starting to use the South Pars oil layer and four petrochemical projects with about $20b investment on April 16 shows Iran’s resilience in sanction era, the statement reads.
In their statement, MPs pointed to South Pars as the symbol of the Economy of Resistance.
President Rouhani inaugurated the phases 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 of the South Pars Gas Field and the development project of the Field’s oil layer in the Persian Gulf region on Sunday.
The aim of inauguration of the phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars is to daily produce 56.6 million cubic meters of gas, 75 tons of gas condensate and 400 tons of sulphur. It also pursues yearly production of one million tons of ethane and 1.02 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
It is estimated that the complete development of the South Pars phases will guarantee Iran’s energy supply; then the country will annually earn 100 billion dollars from it.
